Ollech & Wajs Precision watch with E. Bettlach Cal. *** movement, ca. 1960's

This watch appears to be a 1960's vintage divers watch. The case back boasts the fact that it was tested to 20 atmospheres when it was new. The black bezel turns either way and is held in place by friction, unlike most bezels that ratchet around in one direction only. The watch is in surprisingly good shape for being a 40-some-year-old daily-wear watch.

The black dial is in near mint condition, with only a small piece of luminous material missing from the 1 o'clock marker. The hands have seen better days though. I filled in the second and minute hands with white paint, since they were missing the luminous material. The hour hand still had its luminous center intact but I painted over it with white paint to match the other two hands.

The movement was made by E. Bettlach, and contains 17 jewels. After a cleaning, it works fine. The stainless steel bracelet is quite loose but adds to the vintage look of the watch. It is unmarked other than to say "Stainless Steel".
